Article 20: Take Time To Breathe!

You are the keeper of your world at work as well as the one at home.  The key with all things is to establish a balance.   A proper allocation of time between work, play, family, friends, helping other and home is critical.  Get yourself overcommitted in any one area will mean that the other areas will suffer.  Each of us only has a finite amount of time, each day, to accomplish as much as presented to us.  If you’re always on the go, constantly working and never taking time for yourself then I can guarantee you will be overwhelmed with stress, anxiety and frustration.

It is good to work towards helping others achieve their goals but if you are constantly working in the direction of making others happy, you will have been definitely neglecting yourself.  Don’t allow yourself to be “burned out” in any area of your life.  All of the pieces work together and once you reduce the amount of attention on one than the entire stack becomes unstable and a shift is inevitable.  Reestablish a balance in each area of your life (work, home, social).  Once you do you will then be able to experience the benefits of a relaxed mind, soul and body.

Take time today to invest in yourself.  Relax. Breathe. Rejuvenate.  When you are refreshed emotionally, physically and spiritually, you are able to give more to your tasks and those around you.  You become more effective and efficient.  A balance in your life breeds joy and allows you to get the most out of each and every day!
